What belongs in your home toolbox?

Here are some items to get you started!

Basic Equipment

  • Bucket, 5-gallon

  • Caulking gun

  • Clamps

  • Claw hammer

  • Construction screws, assorted

  • Drill, cordless, 3/8-inch variable-speed reversible

  • Drill bit set

  • Duct tape

  • Flashlight

  • Flat scraper or putty knife

  • Gloves, rubber gloves and leather

  • Glue, wood and all-materials (also Super Glue)

  • Ladder, 6-foot fiberglass

  • Level

  • Nails, assorted

  • Paintbrush, multiple sizes and rollers with trays

  • Pliers, standard, long-nose, Channellock, and wire-cutter

  • Plunger

  • Rags and Towels

  • Safety goggles

  • Sandpaper and sanding block

  • Screwdrivers, several sizes of both flathead and Phillips

  • Utility knife and extra blades

  • Wire

  • Wrenches

    • basic set of open-ended crescent wrenches,

    • set of ratcheting socket wrenches

    • set Allen wrenches

  • Wood screws, assorted
